LGBTQ+ PLAYWRITING WORKSHOPS

FREE WRITING WORKSHOPS

for queer female & nb writers

12, 19 and 26 June

6.30pm – 8.30pm

on Zoom

From Sita: These workshops will offer a creative and reflective space for LGBTQ+ and questioning writers to explore identity, power, and politics through writing. Together, we’ll consider the characters and stories that matter to you, your personal values and passions, and the style and form of work you’re drawn to make.

We’ll explore how to move from an initial spark to a fully formed idea, drawing inspiration from existing plays, identifying what’s missing in theatre today, and reflecting on why your voice matters.

Each session will include writing exercises, discussion of craft, and space to think about collaboration and creative process. The sessions will be shaped responsively, so come with your ideas and questions and we’ll meet you where you are.

Eligibility – must be over 18, and have at least one parent of South Asian descent.

If you’d like to attend, please email info@kalitheatre.co.uk by June 6 with a couple of sentences about your writing to date
